Wajastar Takes the Win

Wajastar, a 3-year-old was diagnosed as having degenerative joint disease syndrome or osteoarthritis in the left rear hock with some secondary sensitivity in the back. This was determined by veterinarians at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, New Bolton Center. A Professor of Sports Medicine at the center recommended 3 to 4 months of rest before resuming racing. Vet-Sonotron Therapy was started on Wajastar. After three treatments in one week he resumed training. Two weeks later Wajastar finished 2nd. A week thereafter, he finished 4th. On his next race a week later, he finished 2nd losing by a head and running one of the fastest times of his career. His owner and trainer reported that not only is he racing well but all signs of the lameness have disappeared.
